Can't connect Figma MCP to Gumloop

We are trying to use the Figma MCP from a third-party client (Gumloop), but connecting the MCP gives a DCR/CIMD error.

Is there a process to request getting additional clients added to the supported ones?

Hey there! Celine from the Figma Community Support team here. Thanks for flagging this, the DCR/CIMD error you're seeing happens because Gumloop isn't currently on our list of approved MCP clients.

Here's what you can do: please fill out this form to request Gumloop's access to the Figma MCP catalog: Figma Remote MCP Server Access Request

At the moment, we've paused adding new MCP clients while we continue to build a strong and scalable foundation for all partners. Real-world customer demand is very impactful and can significantly strengthen the case for adding a client, so submitting the form is the most useful thing you can do right now. Thanks for your patience!

Hi @Celine_ thanks for this, will complete that request.

Is a workaround possible using Figma API keys or personal access tokens?

Thanks for the follow up! Just checked internally, and on the workaround: no, a Figma API key or personal access token won't work either. Gumloop would need to be added to the list of approved MCP clients in order for that connection to happen, so submitting the form is still your best path forward. Thanks for your patience!
