Question

Can I disable double clicking the edge to change auto layout settings (hug, fill, fixed)?

When working with more complex auto-layouts in Figma, I find myself accidentally changing frames/instances from Fill to Fixed or Hug by double clicking on the edge. In some cases I don’t catch myself and only discover later that parts of a prototype are not responsive.

Is there a way to disable this or change the behavior to require a key modifier or something?

I would really like this option too. Sometimes I even change the layout without noticing, and it breaks things later when text is updated. Have never once wanted to double click to change the layout mode.

That’s a good way to put it.

I’ve only ever used this functionality by accident. I never do it on purpose. But do it by accident quite often. I usually only notice that something changed when testing (or demoing) with a prototype.

Hey All, thanks for the feedback!

This isn’t possible, but I’ve updated this topic into a feature request. We’ll pass this onto our Auto Layout team for future consideration.
