Right now there's no single-click solution to break (ungroup, detach) a component, as already discussed here 

My suggestion is simply allow the same keyboard shortcut (CTRL+B) to break apart the main component (turn it into a frame or group) without having to go through the workaround of instancing + breaking + going back to the main component and deleting it.
