Allow us to dock/move the new UI3 toolbar

Please, please, PLEASEEEE move the UI toolbar to the top.
It is completely in the way on the bottom.

Until this is changed, I refuse to switch to the new system until you force it upon me like another useless AI feature (oh wait you do that too now! 😛).

I saw this statement and had the same exact thoughts you did! That is until I remembered that Figma is cross-platform and they're probably talking about Windows touch device and tablet/iPad users.

Just another reminder that designing products for multiple platforms is tricky. If you take a "one UI" across platform approach, you're guaranteed to design in more concessions than if you tailored each endpoint to its target OS and interaction model.

We dont want to use new UI becasue we - designers - dont want toolbar to be in fixed position as it is in UI3. ALLOW TO MOVE IT PLEASE!

This is a no brainer. It’s like swapping the break for the accelerator! Muscle memory is a real thing!

It will be really nice feature, and easier transition to the new UI3 layout. Now the tool bar really close to the mac dock, and I need to precisely move the cursor just to pick the right tool, and not the mac icon.

what is the status on toolbar freedom? 

Remove the "FigPal” function, nobody needs that and give us the option to move the toolbar to Top!

I made a new fix:

1. Open developer tools
2. Sources → » → snippets
3. + New snippet
4. Add code blow
5. CTRL + Enter or click play

Figma chrome devtools saves the snippet, so you only have to open dev → play snippet every time you start Figma

It is standard for desktop apps to have the toolbar at the top of the page. Having the toolbar in a nonstandard location HINDERS usability. I had reverted to the old version for a long time solely for the toolbar placement.
