Add Connector Lines to Design files

Currently, if you copy + paste a figjam flow into a Design file, the Connector Lines stay fully functional – they stretch and adapt as you move their origins and destinations around the canvas, and you can move their origins and destinations to your frames, components, etc.

I’ve been using this to show user flows within my UI designs, not only for ease of sharing with other teammates (no need to give in-depth walkthroughs), but also for easily identifying missing states within a flow.

It would be great if a) the Connector Line was added as a tool to Figma Design, or b) basic lines and pen vectors had the option to act as connector lines – attaching to anchor points on objects and components, scaling when the endpoints were moved, and able to be adjusted with mid-line handles.

It’s been 3 years now and it’s still not implemented! I use copy/paste trick myself and see connector lines in other people files. Oldschool “arrows” are so ugly.

3 years of waiting got to me too, so I made a small plugin for this.

Not sure if it's useful to everyone, but you just draw a rough line and it turns into a clean arrow that stays connected when you move frames around.

Free if you want to try it: https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1646428620729550442

Same boat — I gave up waiting and built one too.

The copy-paste-from-FigJam workaround does work, but keeping a FigJam file open just to harvest arrows got old fast. So I made Snapflow (free, no account, no limits): it puts the real FigJam connector nodes straight into a Design file. Because they're the actual native nodes rather than drawn vectors, they anchor to objects, re-route when you move things, and keep working after the plugin is closed.

It also brings across the FigJam shapes, sticky notes, tables and stamps, which covers most of what people are copying over by hand.

Snapflow

One honest limitation, since it came up earlier in the thread: connectors still can't attach to a layer nested inside an instance. That's a restriction of the native connector itself, not something a plugin can work around.
