Hi everyone! 👋
I design high-load interfaces for the B2B and B2E segments, where working with large tables is pretty much a daily task. Populating such tables manually is inconvenient and takes a lot of time.
I’ve tried various plugins that generate test data, but most of the solutions I tested had one critical limitation — you can’t easily generate multiple types of data at once. I had to do it step by step: first, select text layers in one column to generate names, then move to another column to generate emails and then phone numbers… This process really slows down the workflow.
That’s why I came up with the idea to create a plugin that automates table population and saves time.
That’s how Mirage Data Generator was born — a plugin that helps quickly insert test data into tables and groups of similar elements.
Key Features of the plugin:
-
Works with any groups of similar elements: table rows, cards and lists.
-
Supports various formats for names, phone numbers, email domains, dates, and addresses.
-
Correctly handles multiple text fields within a single cell (for example: full name + email).
-
Drag-and-drop interface for quickly selecting the needed data formats.
My goal is to make the plugin as intuitive and useful as possible, that is why I’m turning to the community for advice.
What I’d like to get feedback on:
-
Usability. Is the interface intuitive? Would you be able to figure out how to generate data without instructions?
-
Missing data types. What types of test data do you use most often that isn’t in the plugin yet?
-
Bugs or glitches. Does everything work correctly, or do you encounter any issues?
The plugin is completely free and available here: https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1553417581739891748/mirage-data-generator-en-beta
A huge thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to try it out! Any feedback helps me make the plugin better. 🙏
