Hi everyone, I’m Brian, and I’ve been building a product called Glide Design AI.
The idea is simple: a lot of founders, developers, and small teams can build software, but they struggle to make the product feel polished. Glide Design is an AI design workspace where someone can describe what they’re building and get back high-fidelity screens, product copy, design direction, and handoff notes from a single prompt.
The part I’m most interested in improving is the design quality. I’m working on a system where the AI thinks through typography, layout, hierarchy, color, component structure, and product context before it renders anything. The goal is not to replace designers, but to help builders stop shipping rough-looking apps when they do not have access to a full design team.
I’d love feedback from the Figma community on a few things:
How would you expect an AI design tool to fit into a real design workflow?
What would make AI-generated screens actually useful to designers, instead of just looking like generic templates?
What should a tool like this export or hand off so it works well with Figma?
What are the biggest mistakes you see AI design tools making right now?
I’m especially interested in thoughtful criticism around workflow, taste, component structure, and handoff. I’m still early and trying to learn from people who care deeply about design quality.
Thanks in advance. Any feedback, pushback, or suggestions would be genuinely helpful.
