I recently did a lot of cleaning up my company's Figma file structure and unfortunately comments can't be moved from one file to another. I've consolidated a lot of files into one to make it easier, but I have to manually re-write the comments so I don't lose them.

Right now, comments can only be pinned to top level elements at a specific set of coordinates and not within any nested elements. One thing to keep in mind, resizing a frame or rearranging elements inside the frame can cause pins to lose a clear reference to the nested layers that they were previously shown.
The team is already trying to build a better functioning comment system that will allow comments to pin to nested elements, but until then, please keep this in mind when trying to move your designs with comments in the future.

- merging and splitting comment branches/nodes into one;
- being able to move comments between pages within file;
- threads within single comment branch/node.
