Both versions provide the same core features and functionality, since Figma is as a browser-based. The desktop app is more of a specialized browser window. The Figma desktop app also allows you to:
- Develop plugins and widgets for your organization or the Figma Community
- Access and use fonts installed on your device without needing the font installer
