Question

Please rework Buzz's zoom frame shortcuts - in design mode, I can't type "n" inside a text property without it moving to the next frame

Unsure if this would be considered a bug or feedback but it’s impossible to write words including the letter “n” within the text properties of components in Figma Buzz’s design mode tab in Asset view.

The moment I type “n,” it immediately moves to the next frame instead of updating the text property or allowing me to continue typing. Editing the text directly in the canvas does not cause this issue, but it is frustrating to work around and troubleshoot for non-designer collaborators who are more comfortable using the properties panel instead of directly editing the text object.

Hey @Mariahlyn Okuna 👋 Thanks for the video. I have a few quesitons to help get us started:

  • Is this happening with browser and Desktop?
  • System details— OS and version + browser/Desktop app version(s)
  • Does this happen only in this flle? Or with a new Buzz file as well?

Thank you! — Jaycee

Hi Jaycee,

Thanks for reaching out! I’ve tested this across 2 Mac machines, one intel and one m1 chip, OS Sequoia 15.8.1and OS Tahoe 26.5. respectively. They are both on Figma version 126.9.13.

  • This happens when I duplicate the original file and edit the copy on both browser and desktop.
  • On browser, this does not happen at first when I create a new Buzz file, add the templates, and then edit the text property. But, on desktop/browser, it eventually happens when I edit that same new file OR create a new file.

Hi, @Mariahlyn Okuna - stepping in for @Jaycee Lewis. Thanks for providing the additional information. I’ve asked the team if there’s something you can do to prevent this, and to take a look more generally and see if this is a bug or not. Thank you for your patience!

In the meantime, have you tried copying and pasting in words that include the letter n? That might work as a temporary solution so you aren’t fully blocked from entering whatever text you’d prefer.
