Please bring back ui2, it's very hard to work with Figma right now actually. Instead of a gradual change, everything changed all at once. There's no need to make things more complicated than they need to be.

I've always been a big fan of Figma. It's so easy to use and it's a pleasure to work with. After spending some time getting to know Adobe's various features, I've found a product that's as easy as it is delightful. Whether I can creating both banners or designing pages, this product makes it a breeze. I learned all the features and capabilities in just one day in UI2!

Now, with the new UI3, working with a simple project is lengthened many times over. I just wanted to let you know that the menu on the right is very tricky to use. It's working with frames, and the position of objects inside has become inconvenient and very long.

I would really appreciate it if you could bring back the UI2 selection. I'm struggling with the new interface for the third day and can't get used to it.

I had no idea that this forum even existed until today! I'm so glad I found it.

The new UI changes is quite drastic and have significantly altered the user experience. While i understand that updates are often meant to improve functionality or aesthetics, but sudden shift has made it difficult to navigate and use features I was previously family with. And now I don’t even have the option to switch it back.

It would be cool if you could still return to the old interface, or at least make it possible to move windows with functions bolted in place.
All adobe programs have the ability to customize the program interface as you wish. why can't you do that here?

DEAR FIGMA, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? you got rid of one of the most intuitive designs and replaced it with an awful version of it without giving the core component of your company (THE USERS) an option to switch back!

i hope your company goes bankrupt honestly. no wonder people started paying for damn SKETCH.

PLS give back old UI. I cant work with new design…. {PLEEEASEEE

UI3 is absolutely unnecessary and helpless. I need an option to switch back to UI2.

BACK TO UI2

Up until today, I was able to use the old UI.

Starting from today i was automatically switched to the new UI and I’m missing the option to back to the old one.

I noticed in a different thread the if you have a paid account you should be able to go back to the old UI.

This new UI doesn’t make any sense for me and it’s a waste of time and money, you (Figma) should put all that effort into listening the community, because you guys (Figma) suck more and more at this.

How can I switch back to the old UI???

How can I switch back to the old UI???

You can’t. UI2 was removed from Figma a few days ago. There is only UI3 now.

So the dogshit keep piling up…..

First the EXTRA prices,

Them the VERY complicated and hard to understand new pricing system,

And now this new design which the community is complaining about for 1 year.

It seems that Figma is following the footsteps of other large companies who used to have great product when they listened to their users feedback and then they started to think they know everything and slowly but surely ruined everything step by step.

GOOD JOB Figma!

You are on the right path!

Thx @Nellya for the answer.

The above feedback is not directed to you, it towards Figma.

Yep, same problem here. UI2 has a fluid UI UX. We should have the option to switch and choose UI2

Please bring back the old UI, the new one is inconvenient, I work unproductively

Yep, adobe’s vibes...

You can’t. UI2 was removed from Figma a few days ago. There is only UI3 now.

So, the point is to communicate to Figma that UI2 should be brought back. It’s fine to make a mistake. But more important to understand it / accept it / fix the problem. UI3 is mistake.

After the late autoupdate to new UI3, I can’t normally work because I can’t find any tool. I need to google every small action. After almost 10 years of the experience working with Sketch and Figma, now I feel like a junior designer that struggling to learn a new tool. The contrast of the toolbar is so slow that I even don’t see half of the elements.

UI3 is terrible. I also join the return of UI2.

I switched back zu UI2 for as long as I could after trying out the UI3 and hating it. Everything is less intuitive and more time consuming and confusing. I opened up Figma today and was told that now I have to use UI3 and I am not looking forward to having to work with this program.

I remember the day I found Figma. It was like christmas. This program was everything I needed and could wish for and I enjoyed every second of exploring the program. I cannot for the life of me understand the decisiones that went into this changes. Especially charring for a software with the purpose to make good UI and UX. Seems like you guys should get back to the roots and try again. I blame Adobe for this.

Since I have to work with this UI3 now, I will come back with a more detailed Feedback.

At first i switched to UI3 because all of the times before a figma update would bring joy and really great features. I tried to get used to it for 2 weeks before i switched back to UI2. Until now - where we’re forced to make the switch.
As a product developer myself I understand the urge to make things better. But maybe a wide usertesting with feedback for UI3 would have been great. Maybe you did that but then I really don’t understand how this UI3 came to be.

So what’s wrong with UI3 in my opinion:

  • Toolbar at the bottom. On phones, this would make sense for being close to the thumb. On desktop? I can’t stop looking for my tools at the top. Please put the bar at least back up.
  • New comments are nearly invisible. I always have to look on purpose to see whether there is a “red” dot.
  • I often have to click multiple times to get to a feature because it's hidden inside an icon now. Which wasn’t the case before
  • Not everything needs a title and a section for its own. The input fields are so far apart I need to really look where I need to click. This slows down my workflow so so much guys.

I have no patience at all. I’m a very quick worker. That's why I loved loved loved Figma. It was a breeze to work with Figma. Easy to understand and very easy to use. Every button at the right position. I’m just really frustrated, because of course i will still be using Figma. But now with frustration instead of humming my fav song.

Seriously, we had hourlong discord calls about how cool Figma was. Now it’s the opposite.

Please bring back UI2.

Who hell on Earth came up with idea that hiding actions that are often used is a “great idea”? WHAT FOR? There was no ANY problem in visibility of the screen (neither design itself, nor comments, nor tools). Why this ‘compacting’ would be needed at first place? Why would I need ‘flattening’ components AT ALL?? It starts reminding me of a disastrous UI and UX of adobe’s bulky monopoly monster.

BRING UI2 BACK. UI3 is a mistake.

The new interface is terribly inconvenient, give me the opportunity to switch to the old one.

Convenience is at the expense of novelty.

UI3 is not only inconvenient, but also some elements look awful, and they don’t pass the contrast test.

Does anyone have any idea how can I get rid of this ugly grey top bar from 90s?

P.S. I don’t want to switch to dark theme.

Figma blew up because it was way easier to use than Adobe products. The interface was clean, fast, and didn’t get in the way. Now you’re ruining it. The new UI is a mess and nobody asked for it. Stop breaking what worked. Give us the option to go back to UI2 and you’ll see the majority prefer it. This isn’t innovation. It’s pointless change to justify busywork.

guess it’s time to look for alternatives for real now. i so don’t want to have to redo all my work but i’m so over these anti-user decisions.
