Moving or copying frames between files/Reordering variables through Claude+FigmaMCP

I’ve been using Claude + Figma MCP for a large part of my design workflow, and there are two limitations that keep coming up:

  1. Moving or copying frames between files
    If I ask Claude to copy a frame from one Figma file into another file, it can’t do it — even when both files live inside the same project/folder..

It would be really useful if MCP could understand the project structure and move or duplicate frames/components between files that the user already has access to.

  1. Reordering variables
    Claude can work with variables, but it currently can’t change their ordering. For larger design systems, being able to reorganize variables through MCP would make maintaining collections much easier.

These feel like relatively small gaps, but they become pretty noticeable when using MCP as part of a full design workflow rather than just for isolated edits.
