it was said before but having a left sidebar eats up too much real estate and is a waste of my time opening it and closing it.  I use assets NONSTOP and frequently do finds and finds and replaces.  No matter what changes you make in the future try to make them user choice. I need as much workspace as possible and you need to stop fixing what isn’t broken

Previously it was simpler to search for an asset and find a component to use. The new experience will take some getting used to - now I have to remember that Assets exists as an individual rail item that I have to navigate to to find a component. Seems like a downgrade in efficiency for those who have company wide design libraries or assets that they use in their everyday workflows. Is there a way to switch back to the previous navigation?

Also, the clickable area for the AI hint on shape selection feels too large especially when I’m zoomed out of a screen. I keep accidentally triggering it when I’m trying to click through to a specific nested layer of an object.

All I can say is FIRE whoever designed this and whoever approved it - Disgusting counter intuitive waste of space, the tabs you used before worked perfectly well - why do I have the same library icon on screen twice? Just terrible in every regard.

PLEASE please pleaseeeee  put the "assets" tab back next to pages! It makes for a better work flow when searching and selecting elements on a page. Where it was it better fits the Law of Proximity.

Thank you!

ok luv u bye

I strongly dislike this sidebar, I want it removed!

非常赞同!!希望可以取消或者隐藏这个侧边栏,对于使用笔记本的用户来说真的很不方便

Today we see their master plan. That bar is just getting filled with AI tools, with no consideration to features we’ve been clamouring for. Scroll Offset Trigger Events, Links to other Pages, Links to pages on Text? Why are these all low-priority when these are basic things in HTML

it’s wild    where are assets now?   Why would someone move that?

bored designers?

it’s like some car designer moving the blinker switch on a car from the steering wheel to the back seat.

well done

Yeah it's a bad update, we just need space not the 1001 button

I even had to sign in just to write this review. I completely agree with the OP. Why did you do that? I work on a laptop, and my screen is already small enough... Why did you go and make it even smaller with your stupid update?

And when you’re a viewer on file, it’s just wow

Guys, for real, just stop design things on macbook air. The battle for 60px is just ridiculous.
The ability to reorder or just moving agent further would be appreciated though. I play with it, yes, but asssets definitely are more important for the most.

Just like my title, new panel does nothing but to promote new features and such. Listen figma, most of the users know how to use shortcuts and those buttons can be placed elsewhere. You stole a ton of space just to feature a couple of stupid nav button, even if in the future you may add more in this bar, I STILL DON’T NEED IT, just place them elsewhere. Whoever be able to think of this and whoever approve this idea can just pack your stuff and go home.

Perhaps you should get a larger screen. 60px horizontally shouldn't be a problem.

Seriously??

You think telling user base to get larger screens is the solution to the problem introduced here?

What should laptop users do? Get new laptops according to you? What should corporate employees do according to you, tell their managers to replace all monitors at the office because you think it’s a good solution to compensate for Figma’s bad design decision?

Don’t forget to tell Apple to start building Macbooks larger than 16” okay?

We can assume you’re offering to cover the costs for all the above. Nice.

To be honest, if 60px is such a big problem, then yes, companies and users should get larger screens.

Small screens have never been good for design, and nowadays it's very easy to get a second screen.

If Figma can come up with a better solution, okay, I'll be happy. But this change was excellent for my use.

Okay shill
