"Hello, I noticed that I can embed video files when using Sites, but the videos don't play properly when I preview or publish the webpage. I'd like to ask if this is a bug or an upcoming feature. Thanks."
Hey
Figma Sites doesn’t currently support native video uploads. So, if you upload a video as a fill, it won’t play in Preview mode. (You will also see a warning when trying to publish the Sites file, letting you know that it contains an unsupported fill type.)
To add a video, we recommend using a YouTube embed, or the generic URL or HTML embed if your video is hosted on a different platform.
You can learn more about this here: Insert blocks, embeds, webpages, and design libraries into a site.
That said, I'll pass this along as a feature request to our product development team as I can see how video support would be really helpful. Thank you!
Thanks for your response. In future versions, could you possibly provide the capability to play small video files (e.g., under 5MB)? Currently, GIF uploads are supported, but this format is too inefficient/heavy. I hope video functionality can be added to enrich my website content.
