Design File Agent doesn't recreate exactly what's in HTML file

Hi, ​@Phat Pham! Thanks for your post and for trying out the agent in Figma Design. I can imagine it’s frustrating for you when you can visually see what you want but can’t quite get there when having the agent recreate it.

Generative AI by its nature can sometimes output imperfect results that may be inaccurate, incomplete, or work differently than you want, and these will vary depending on the prompt, file context, and model used. Having said that, we have some help articles which can help you learn how to work with it. I’d start with the Get started with the Figma agent in design files article first, then I’d check out the using AI in your design workflows article. In addition to that, there are a lot of ways you can approach what you want to do. For example, you could have the tool you are using to generate HTML give you a design.md file that essentially acts like a design library, containing all your colors, spacing, padding, etc - essentially a design library. You could then have the agent build a library in Figma Design off of that and use that with anything it generates. That’s just one way to approach it, though, and you might find something else works better for your design flow.

Oh, one other point: the agent can create Figma components. Just to make sure, I did a quick test and asked it in my own test file to create a basic card component using whatever libraries were available in my file. There really wasn’t much so it used the plugin API instead:
