Concern About the Limitation of Free Features in Figma

Hello,
I have always been a big fan of your platform, especially because it was one of the few that had not given in to the model of charging subscriptions for standard use.

However, it is now no longer possible to create more than three FigJam files, which seems to me like the beginning of changes that may gradually reduce features that were previously free.

I have always recommended Figma and would not like to stop. Please do not follow this trend, as this was exactly what set you apart from others.

I am Brazilian and used a translator to write this message.

Hi @etlach, thanks for reaching out!

I can see how that would feel frustrating, especially if it seemed like the Starter plan limits changed unexpectedly. But I want to clarify that the 3 FigJam file limit in a team space has actually been part of the Starter plan since FigJam’s release in 2021.

On the Starter plan, you can have up to 3 FigJam files and 3 Design files within a shared team project. But personal drafts aren’t limited in the same way, but drafts aren’t designed for ongoing collaboration. Were you by any chance actually creating unlimited FigJam files within your personal drafts?

If you’ve hit the team collaboration limit, you still have a couple of options:

  1. You can move files back to Drafts to continue working individually
  2. Upgrade your team to the Professional plan to unlock more collaborative files.

Hope this helps explain, but please let me know if you have any further questions.
