Auto Jump to Next Comment User Experience

Figma,

Auto jump to next comments when previous comment is resolved is frustrating to use. Most of the times when we resolve a comments we tend to look and ponder on screen if we want to add any new comments. When it auto-jumps we need to search for the section again which is really bad experience.

Please look into this.

I agree this is very jarring when trying to implement the edits. It assumes that the path of the person commenting should be how we jump around when implementing the edits but that is never the case.

Auto jumping should be removed or at least we should have the ability to toggle it off

Dear Figma,

I understand your desire to make my work easier, and appreciate it with all my heart. I truly do.

But I do not want you to take me to another screen as soon as I resolve a comment. Please understand that when I’m resolving a comment, I’m simply marking that particular section as “done”. I still have the rest of the screen to inspect. And I would very much like to stay on it.

So, with all due respect, please allow me the option to turn off this auto-jump/auto-navigation feature or just turn it off altogether.

Thank you!!

Nothing is more infuriating than sprinting through tons of comments, resolving one to make the intended edits, then auto-jumping to the next comment and completely losing my place and train of thought.

Hi all, thanks for continuing to share your feedback here.

I understand how this can be disruptive to your daily workflow, especially when you’re working through multiple comments.

I’ve passed this feedback along to our team, and it’s currently being tracked as a feature request.

We really appreciate everyone taking the time to share how this behavior is affecting your workflow, and hope we can find a way to make the commenting experience smoother for everyone.

I’ll keep this thread updated if I have anything new to share from the team 🙏

With the comment from Celyn_L I wonder if they still want us to complain (I mean comment) about this pesky feature. The auto jump to the next comment is truly a thorn in my side. I am the one that goes through to resolve the comments after verifying the call out was actually made, which means I can resolve hundreds of comments from different commenters depending on the number of creatives. That is hundreds of times I am auto jumped to Timbuktu when I need to remain on the creative I am reviewing. Sigh. I will be very happy when this option to toggle auto jump is implemented. Fingers crossed.

Feedback is always appreciated, @Angela B, even if it’s just “I also want to see this”. You’ve provided a pretty good example of what this looks like when you scale this up to hundreds of comments, though!

While we don’t have any updates to share on this just yet, this one is pretty easy to understand the reason why you’d want to prevent this behavior. Hopefully we’ll have some more info to share with you soon.

Guys, I found a workaround: Before you click to resolve the comment, click on the Hand Tool. For some reason it won’t jump to the next comment. Still not the most efficient solution but waaay better than it jumping to the next comment. *Figma, would you like me to send my resume to you??? 😏
