Ask Agent Mode has a very bad UX

The annoying part of the agent mode itself is that it is always located on the top right of every selection that we make -- which does not seem to be our use case at every moment to the point we have to keep it in every selection. A bigger problem is that it does not have an exit button when you accidentally click into the ask agent mode. You can only click out by clicking on the background canvas, and even then I figured out the way out after a few minutes. It is very annoying.

Thanks for your post, @Nicholas Andhika Lucas, and for the feedback - we appreciate knowing what you and others find annoying when trying to work with the agent on the canvas.

Have you considered disabling the on-canvas entry point for the agent? In the Figma menu, go to Preferences and disable the Show agent on canvas option. You can still access the agent with the icon on the left-side navigation, so this is just hiding the icon shown to the top right of a layer.

If you don’t want to turn that off, you can also hit the ESC key to dismiss the agent popup. Let me know if you have any trouble or questions, though!

I do think disabling the Show agent on canvas option won't directly solve the problem. Let's say for hybrid workflows where you both edit designs manually and ask for agent to complete it.

The main problem is that it shows up in a high-traffic interface which is bound for mouse slips etc. If I could change this, I would put the ask agent icon/route into a deeper layer. Perhaps it shows up on a right click, and also have a shortcut for it, for example. Just a suggestion though! For context, I'm still a manual-design-heavy user, not an agent-first user.

Also, now I know you can dismiss the popup with the esc key...

I see what you mean for how you use Figma, @Nicholas Andhika Lucas, and I shared that with the team for review. Appreciate the feedback - thank you for sharing!
