AI agent is here! How do I remove it?

Yet another UI update that ruins the workspace.
Now a whole column width is reducing the workspace size, created to accommodate one AI agent button that I have no interest in using. You’ve moved the library and assets to a less usable place  because you couldn’t figure out how to add the AI agent somewhere else? 
How can I roll back this change to the version that actually worked?

    I wanted to check in with where things stand: There still isn't a way for an individual to hide or remove the Agents access point in the left nav. I don't have a timeline or a planned change to share on that, but we're continuing to track this feedback with the product team.

    For your question about workspaces: On Enterprise plans, org admins can turn AI features off by following these steps: Manage AI settings and content training for your team or organization → Adjust access to AI across Figma.

      +1, hate the left bar. 

    You’ve replaced the Assets button with another ‘A’ - Agents

    Replaced the Assets + icon I’m used to with another + icon. 

    WHY!?!?! Does nobody at Figma actually use Figma?

    Every time I go to click assets, I now hit Agents by mistake. The UX decisions on this product are so bad every time something new is added it completely disrupts everyone’s everyday workflows. 

    Could have easily just put Agents after Variables and not make everyone have to relearn their muscle memory.

      Hi everyone, I've touched base with our engineering team and wanted to share an update on hiding the Figma agent on the canvas. Good news — they've rolled out a fix.

      If you're looking to hide the Figma agent on the canvas, you can now turn off on-canvas prompting by going to the main menu in your file (the Figma icon in the upper left corner of the app) → Preferences → Show Agents on canvas, and turn it off by unchecking it.

      Note: if you don't see the setting right away, a quick tab reload should pick it up. We'll continue monitoring closely for further reports. Thanks for your patience while we worked on a resolution.

      Yeah, great. That doesn’t solve the problem. Even though I have that unchecked I’m still getting this:
       

      And as others have mentioned, the new vertical side-bar sucks too.

       

      I don’t want any AI stuff on my page at all. Please roll out an option where I can revert to the UI without AI being crammed down our throats, thank you.

      I posted about this a month ago…..and I have spent the past month clicking the wrong item EVERY SINGLE TIME I need the assets panel. The amount of AI slop being shoved on us against our will/with no option to disable it is truly disheartening.

      Please put ‘Assets’ (or just rename it back to ‘Libraries’?!) in second place and not ‘Agents’.
      Trust me Figma, no one is accessing an AI agent before a library.

      Sick of having AI products forced down my throat, especially you Figma who is supposed to be making software for design professionals. As a professional tool , stop changing UI layouts and adding useless features for the sake of ‘something to do’.

        The more you click on it by accident, the more enagement it gets which will tick the box set to the development team by Figma’s top brass. This is just par for the course for all software now, AI is the zeitgeist and it’ll be put in our faces to ensure they can tell investors that people are using it en masse & their money is going to the right place.

        Call me cynical, but why else would a product that has become a leading UX package on merit make such a blatant, unfixable error? As far as I can remember all “new features” were  discreet, out of the way & signposted with clear WIP or Beta messaging until this one. I wonder why this is different?

          In addition, the little “agents” icon to the right of anything you have selected—this is so frustrating. It gets in the way of things I actually want to click. I suspect this should be its own topic but regardless, I find it so annoying and I have to click to deselect whatever I’m working on, then click to select the item to its immediate right that the ‘agents’ button was concealing.

          you can see (or can you?) that little icon right in the way

           

          it is super annoying. basically they upsell tokens on everything we click

            I’m going to rage here. Figma has completely passed its sweet spot phase and entered the shareholder pleasing phase. The bloat has started with the chaotic addition of AI we are forced to use that is not consistent in reliability because as soon as you try to alter a design or animation there is a 50/50 chance it breaks it and you have to start over. Don’t get me started on Figma make which locks you out of actually deep diving into the finished product, having to rely on the same AI queries that eventually break something. This is the same crap that Adobe did with photoshop (inundating us with 50/50 reliable AI agents) and I no longer use that steaming pile. Yes i’m angry. I already have AI fatigue. I’m disillusioned because every bloody tech company eventually pivots to this insane strategy, completely bypassing its users who have to waste time relearning muscle memory. Motion is a joke as it can’t even stop playing an animation in presentation mode. And if I try to bypass AI to get to the idea i’m trying to convey by doing it manually with smart animation, it breaks from the complexity - identical components that worked fine (same name, same structure) start acting differently. This app is gradually becoming a statistic.

              Figma is forcing the Ai Agents in the classroom setting through Figma Education 

              There is no way for a teacher to disable these Ai tools in their Education Teams. 

              Huge disappointment.
