I downloaded the Mac desktop app and tried to launch Figma,

but nothing happened. It just wouldn't open at all.

Figma bounces in the dock for a while, then just stops and nothing happens.

So I deleted it and reinstalled it, but the same thing happened.
I even cleared the caches, but it still doesn't work.

What can I do to get Figma to run on my MacBook?

Hey Danbi, sorry to hear you're having trouble launching the Figma desktop app on your Mac!

Since you've already reinstalled and cleared the cache, here are a few other things to check:

  • Check your macOS version: Make sure your device is running macOS 11 or later, as this is required for the Figma desktop app.
The Figma desktop app is optimized for Macs for Intel and Apple Silicon processors. You can check this by clicking the Apple menu in the top-left corner → Select “About This Mac”. The version number will be displayed under the version name.
  • To make sure everything's up to date, download the Figma desktop app directly from here: www.figma.com/download/desktop/mac

If the issue continues, and you see any error messages, please contact directly our support team so they can take a closer here: Submit a bug report

Please include :

  • The email tied to your Figma account

  • A quick summary of the steps you tried

  • Your macOS version
  • Debug logs if available (you can find instructions to download here: Download debug logs on macOS).

Our support team can investigate it further, thank you!

I'm using the latest macOS version, 12.

I don’t even know how many times I’ve deleted and reinstalled it at this point. I just don’t understand why it’s not working.

Thank you for the details! I know how frustrating this must be, especially after so many reinstall attempts.

Since you're on macOS 12 and the issue is still happening, the best next step would be to reach out to our support team directly. If you can include the details we talked about (your macOS version, the steps you've tried, any error messages, and debug logs), it’ll really help them dig into what’s going on.

As mentioned, you can submit a ticket here: Submit a request for Figma Support
They will investigate further the root of these issues and will be happy to help you out! Thank you.
