Hey @Cristian_Banu, thanks for flagging this!
It looks like the screen recording wasn’t attached to this post, but if you’re up for it, feel free to share it via a Loom or Google Drive link so I can take a closer look.
To help us dig in a bit more, could you me us know:
-
Is this lag also happening in the browser?
-
Have you seen any memory alerts pop up in the file?
-
When did you first start noticing the slowdowns?
-
Does it happen in one specific file, or across all your files?
-
How often is the issue happening — every time, or off and on?
-
And lastly, have you had a chance to try resetting Figma or restarting to see if that helps?
Thanks for your help!
this is also happening with me
How can I attach a video? It doesn’t allow me to.
It’s the desktop app, I mentioned that in the title. It’s been going on for quite a while, since I started using UI3, but only if the Layers panel would be open. That’s why I always switch to the Assets panel, and rarely use the Layers panel, that’s the workaround I found, and the lag is gone. But a couple of days ago it started being laggy even if the Assets panel is open instead pf the Layers panel. Kight have to do with the constant changes I see in the UI, I get used to something, then BAM, it changes. Maybe performance is tied to these recent changes.
But it’s very annoying, basically, once I click on an element, it takes almost a second for it to get selected. So if I was to click and drag quickly, the cursor would arrive at the destination long before the element actually starts to change its position because of the dragging.
I have cleared the cache, reset Figma and still the same thing. I am using a single tab btw, I closed all other tabs to see if it’s related to having multiple tabs open.
It happens in all files, always.
Hey @Cristian_Banu, thank you for your detailed follow-up!
At the moment, it’s not possible to directly upload a video to the Forum, but you can still share screen recordings by uploading them to Loom or Google Drive and posting the link here.
In the meantime, I’ve already opened a support ticket for you. Your ticket number is #1389092, for reference. Someone from our technical support team will be reaching out to you soon via email. When you get a chance, it would be helpful if you could also share your desktop debug logs with the team. You can find the steps on how to save them here: Download Figma desktop app debug logs.
If it’s easier, feel free to share the screen recording directly via email as well so the team has all the context when investigating.
Thank you again for your patience and let me know if there is anything else I can help with!
Hey @AnnaRocca, I’m really sorry to hear you’re running into this too!
To help us better understand what might be causing the lag, could you take a moment to answer the questions I posted above? The more details we have, the better we’ll be able to narrow down what’s going on and get this sorted for you.
Appreciate your help!
