Question

Why is "Compare changes" missing for some frames in Dev Mode?

I'm using Dev Mode in a paid Figma workspace, and I noticed that "Compare changes" only appears for certain frames or components. Some of them don’t show this option at all.

I’ve noticed that it only appears for frames that were edited in the last 7 days — is that true?
Are there any official rules or limitations for when the "Compare changes" button shows up?

Would appreciate any clarification. Thanks!

Hi @Ngan Bao Nguyen, thanks for reaching out!

I flagged this over to our Dev Mode team, and we don’t have any rules and/or limitations documenting Compare changes. But they shared that some frames won't have the compare changes button, because there haven't been recent changes made on that frame.

To clarify, you won't see the "Compare changes" button on any frames that you just changed, because there needs to have been another version saved since then. This will happen automatically when a version auto-saves in the background at some point.

Hope this helps explain!
