Hey @Yazeed! I can see how that would be confusing. If the item visually deselects when you send the message, it makes it feel like the context isn’t being passed through.
I just tried reproducing this on my end. I noticed that the visual selection clears when the prompt is sent (similar to what you’re describing), but in my case the edit still applied correctly to the selected item.
In your case, is the edit actually being applied to the intended object, or is it completely ignoring the selection? If it’s ignoring it, that’s especially helpful to know. If you’re able to share a short screen recording, that would also help me understand the issue better.
The same issue is happening on my side as well. On send, the point and edit not only loses the selection, it's also losing the context and asking again can you pointout exactly where you want that change. I have to manually write exactly where I need that change.

Appreciate you flagging this!
Hi @Gayani_S
I have been affected quite badly. It’s completely ignoring the selection and missing the context. It then either applies the prompt to something out of context wasting credits or asks to select the component for more context .
Interestingly, I am see this message →
I'm still not seeing any selection come through unfortunately — no code snippet is appearing in your message. This might be a technical issue with the selection tool.
Thank you both for explaining what’s happening! That definitely shouldn’t be happening.
I’d really like to share this with the team so we can investigate properly. Would either of you be able to share a short screen recording showing the behavior? A Loom link or a Google Drive link works great. Seeing exactly what happens on send (especially the moment the selection drops) will help us investigate this further.
Really appreciate you both flagging this, I’ll make sure this gets looked into!
