This features used to exist. The support and help database says it exists… but it does not. The instructions are out of date...OR…..the functionality or feature has been removed.

Not happy.

Hi @designisaverb, thanks for flagging this!

Importing PowerPoint files into Figma Slides is still very much a live feature, so I understand your frustration. To clarify how you’re attempting to Import: from the file browser, you can bring a .pptx in via CreateImportImport, click the Import icon, or just drag the file straight into your file browser.

Drop down menu from the file browser

Import icon (on the far right, if you have the file browser page fully expanded)

Here's our Help Center article again, if you want to double check the steps. A couple of things that may be tripping you up, so I can point you to the right fix:

  • When you try to import, do you get an error message, or does nothing happen at all?
  • By "templates," do you mean your own .pptx file with a custom theme/master slides, or a specific PowerPoint template you're trying to bring in?
  • Are you using Figma in the browser or desktop app?

Heads up: some elements (tables, videos, diagrams, animations, and custom fonts) don't carry over on import today. These get dropped rather than showing an error, which can look like the feature "isn't working" when it's actually a known limitation. If anything matches what you're seeing, please let me know.
