Hi,

I had an annual subscription of Collaboration Seat valid till December 17, 2026. Today I found a due bill of an annual full seat. My question is how did that upgrade without my approval?

Thanks and regards,

Mahruf Hussain

Hey @mhussain320 — welcome to Figma Forum, and thanks for reaching out about this. I can understand how unexpected charges like this would be concerning, and I’m glad you flagged it.

Figma subscriptions are set to renew automatically, and when a bill is higher than expected, it’s often because additional paid seats were added to the plan. This resource walks through the most common reasons this can happen and may help clarify what you’re seeing: There are additional charges in my Figma bill → My bill is higher than expected.

I also checked on your request and can see that our Product Support team is actively reviewing your case. They’ll follow up with you directly as soon as they’ve had a chance to look into what happened with the upgrade. Your case number is: 1693670.

Thanks so much for your patience — the team will be in touch soon to help get this sorted out.

Hey @Tom Reem ,

Thanks for your reply. If you look closely at the attached bill, it reflects an upgrade, not an additional seat. My concern is how this upgrade occurred, as I was neither informed nor aware of it.

The charge is dated December 17, which corresponds to my initial subscription for the Collab Seat. It is very concerning if an account can be automatically upgraded without going through a payment confirmation or approval step, especially when the invoice is issued a month later—effectively leaving me no choice but to pay.

And I look forward to the team’s respond. ;)

Thanks for sharing the additional context, @mhussain320 — I’ve passed this along so the Product Support team has the full picture as they dig into what happened with the seat and billing timeline. Appreciate your patience, the team will follow up directly as soon as they have more to share. 🙏🏻
