Verification limit exceeded - SheerID Unable to Help, No Response from education@figma

It seems a lot of people are having trouble with this, and looking through responses it seems I’ve hit a wall. I was prompted to verify my education status, to which I did successfully, but was then reprompted less than a week later, giving me the verification limit exceeded screen. 

 

I contacted SheerID and they responded promptly stating:

After reviewing our records, I see that your verification request was successfully processed on September 17, 2025. You’re all set, and there’s nothing further you need to do on your end, as your verification is complete. According to Figma's guidelines, you’re eligible to apply for this offer once every 335 days, and you can reapply for it again after this timeframe has passed. Since your previous request was approved within this timeframe, your discount remains active and valid. As a result, submitting a new request will cause system errors and is unnecessary.

 

After doing some of the recommended fixes (logging out and back in, clearing cache, etc.) to no avail, I filed a ticket with support through the website and emailed education@figma. Since filling out the initial help form, its been at least three weeks. I feel like I am running out of options to try and fix this and have gotten zero response. If there’s anything else I can do to help expedite the support process it would be greatly appreciated!

Hey ​@irenetliu, I just checked in on your support ticket (#1593147), and the team confirmed the email address that was successfully verified on your account. 

 

For anyone running into a similar situation where you're trying to move your education status to a different account:
Figma for Education isn’t able to transfer verification between accounts. Instead, you’ll need to move the project or team over to the account that already has the verified education status. You should follow these instructions to move the project or team you need to your education account instead.

 

If you applied your Figma status to the wrong account, please fill out this form so our team can service your request. Please note, the Figma team cannot move status from an account associated with educational email address to an account associated with a personal email address.

Hi everyone, I need urgent help with Figma Education verification.

I am a student at Monash University, currently studying Master of Design.

My education status expired, and I tried to complete the self-verification process, but it failed. I retried, and now I’ve exceeded the verification attempt limit, so I can’t continue the process anymore.

This is seriously affecting my coursework because I need Figma to access lecture resources and complete my assignments.

I can provide proof of enrolment and student ID if needed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated — this is quite urgent.
