Hi,

I’ve been trying to verify my student status for the Figma Education Plan through SheerID, but I keep running into issues. It first said “We’re unable to verify you using the information submitted,” and now it shows “Verification limit exceeded.”

My college doesn’t provide official student email IDs — we use Gmail accounts for everything. The problem is, all my classmates got verified using the same kind of Gmail accounts, but I still haven’t received access. Now my Figma files are locked, and I can’t continue my classes or portfolio work.

I’d really appreciate it if someone from the Figma team could help me reset my verification or restore access to the Student Plan.

Thank you so much for your help.

Hey Sakshi, Celine from Figma here, happy to help!

Thanks for sharing these details! If your university issues school emails under a personal domain (like Gmail), this would be a case where SheerID needs to review their domain records for your school to make sure they reflect the correct information for its students.

For visibility here, our Figma for Education team has recently reaffirmed with SheerID that schools without official student or faculty email addresses are still eligible for the Education program. Since this update was just finalized, I’d recommend reaching out to SheerID’s support team here and referencing this new confirmation from Figma, this should help them review your case under the updated criteria.

Unfortunately, Figma can’t review documents, confirm individual eligibility, or override SheerID’s process, but sharing this update should help move things forward faster.

Thank you again for your patience. I know how important this is for your studies, and I hope this new information helps get your verification resolved quickly! 🙏🏼

Hi Celine,

Thank you so much for clarifying and for the update! I really appreciate your help.

I’ve already reached out to SheerID multiple times, but the main issue right now is that I’m getting a “Verification limit exceeded” message, which means I can’t even submit a new verification request. Could you please let them know from your end or suggest how I can get the verification limit reset so I can try again under the updated criteria?

I’ll reference this new confirmation from Figma in my next message to SheerID as well, but since I’m currently locked out of the verification process, any additional help from your side would mean a lot.

Thanks again for your time and understanding.

Thanks for your message, happy to help! So, the best next step would be to contact SheerID directly using this form: https://support.sheerid.com/en-US/help-center/contact-form. They’ve recently improved their process for handling these errors and are best equipped to review your case and reset your verification limit. (As mentioned, unfortunately Figma can’t review documents, confirm individual eligibility, or override SheerID’s process.)

Thanks again for your patience and understanding!
