Verification Issues for Education plan

I signed up for Figma using my school-issued email address and have attempted the student verification process twice. Unfortunately, both attempts were unsuccessful(I don’t know why.. I submitted my school ID photo), and now I receive a message saying that I have exceeded the verification attempt limit.

 

I contacted SheerID for assistance, but they informed me that they are unable to help further. Therefore, I am reaching out here to request direct support from the Figma team.

 

Could you please reset my verification attempts so I can submit the correct documents? If that is not possible, may I try the student verification again using a different email address that is not my school email?

I can only imagine the frustration this process has caused. If you’ve already contacted SheerID and they weren’t able to help, please reach out to the Education team directly via email at: education@figma.com to help verify your education status.

Hi! I have the same issue, I have contacted SheerID who say my student verification is all accurate but I am still not getting access to Figma. I have contacted education@figma.com twice and have not heard back for weeks. I need access to Figma for my courses urgently.

Since SheerID has confirmed your verification, here are a couple of common things that are worth double-checking:

  • Education access isn’t automatically applied to an existing team. In some cases, you’ll need to either create a new Education team or upgrade an existing one after verification. This Help Center article walks through the steps:

  • Account mismatch: Sometimes the Education status gets applied to a different Figma account than the one you’re currently logged into. Could you confirm you’re signed into the exact same email/account you used during the SheerID verification?

I’m also not able to find your support ticket. Is it possible you reached out using a different email address? If you have a ticket number, feel free to share it so we can help track this down.

I can’t make another education team, I’m a student. I confirmed that with Sheridan that I’m using the same that was verified. I don’t know how to  created a ticket but I sent y’all an email. But I can create a personal account pay for the student verification and be in my education team?.

Just to clarify, the Education plan is a free version of the professional plan. You don’t need to create a separate paid personal account or pay for student verification to access it.

I can see the ticket (#1761107) you submitted via email, and I’ve flagged it internally with our Education team so they’re aware. They’ll be the right group to review your verification status and help get this sorted out.
