Variable details no longer visible in Inspect > Variable details panel ?

There used to be a preview of variable details in Dev mode, opened directly from the Inspect panel - now it’s gone. To see this information, you have to open the file with variable definitions (we have components and foundations separately) from the Variable details panel, which means worse usability for developers. Has this change been implemented on purpose, or is it a bug?

Hey everyone! I can confirm that ​@Anna_Bromek ’s case has been resolved. Our engineering team has deployed a fix for the values issue. (Thanks again for flagging it directly to our support team!). I’ve gone ahead and marked as solved for the topic here.

​@Dhika_Endi_Astowo , could you please try force-quitting Figma and refreshing your tab to see if that helps? If the issue persists, I’d recommend reaching out directly to our support team so they can investigate further. It might be a separate issue, and our team will be best equipped to take a closer look.     Same problem for our team as well. Really hoping this is just a bug that can be fixed soon, since our devs really rely on this feature.

    Update: yesterday Figma Support confirmed it’s a bug, and they’d be working on a fix.

    Hey ​@Anna_Bromek , Is this the same bug as value number? When I change mode, for example from Desktop to Mobile, the value doesn't change at all.

    Hey Anna,

    I noticed the same issue recently — it seems like Figma moved some of the variable detail previews out of the Inspect panel. It’s definitely less convenient having to open the file separately just to see the details.

    Might be worth submitting feedback directly to Figma; they usually respond quickly to developer usability concerns. I’ve also been tracking changes and feature updates with Phonexa, which helps me see when updates actually affect workflow like this.
