I’m getting the same error as you. I have a presentation coming up next week... damn it.

Figma is enabled and authenticated; whoami and file reads succeed. The account has Design Pro / Full seat and ChatGPT allows all actions. Native canvas editing tool use_figma is absent from available tools in ChatGPT Work. Please investigate its availability for this account/session.

Figma native editing is unavailable in ChatGPT Work across both the existing and a fresh conversation. Account:  Design Pro, Full seat. Figma is enabled with “Allow all actions.” Authentication and file reads succeed, but use_figma is absent from the exposed tools. Please investigate why the native editing capability is missing.

Hello Figma Support Team,

On October 16, 2026, I upgraded my existing Figma team to the Education plan.

Before the upgrade, I was able to directly modify native Frame and Text layers in an existing Figma Design file using ChatGPT in a web browser.

Immediately after the upgrade, the use_figma MCP tool was no longer available.

Troubleshooting completed:

• Confirmed that my Figma account has a Full seat.

• Enabled the figma-use skill.

• Disconnected and reconnected the Figma integration.

• Tested multiple new ChatGPT conversations.

• Verified that read-only tools such as get_metadata and get_screenshot still work.

• Confirmed that use_figma is missing from the available MCP tools.

I understand that ChatGPT web is not currently listed among officially supported Write to Canvas clients.

However, I was previously able to modify native Figma layers through this exact workflow.

Could a Figma Support Specialist investigate whether this was related to a previous rollout, an integration change, or an entitlement change following the Education upgrade?

I would appreciate clarification on whether this functionality can be restored.

The write-to-canvas tools previously worked in my Codex desktop conversation, but use_figma and upload_assets are now missing from the available tool list.

Environment:
- Client: Codex desktop on Windows
- Integration: Official Figma plugin
- Remote MCP endpoint: https://mcp.figma.com/mcp
- Plan: Education
- Current seat: Full, confirmed through whoami
- Team role: Admin

What works:
- Authentication through whoami
- Reading existing Figma Design files through get_metadata

What is missing:
- use_figma
- upload_assets

These tools previously created and edited native frames, text, and image layers in the same file and conversation. They are now absent entirely, so the agent cannot even attempt an editing operation.

Troubleshooting completed:
- Restarted Codex
- Rechecked the Figma connection
- Changed my seat from View to Full and verified the change through whoami
- Tested access to multiple files and pages

Read access continues to work, but the editing tools remain unavailable.
