URGENT: Missing Figma File / Prototype Not Found

Hi Team,

We are facing a critical issue. A very important Figma file is completely missing from our workspace, personal drafts, and the trash folder. Global search is also not finding it.

When we try to open the old prototype link, it gives a 'Prototype not found' error. Since I am on a Starter plan, I cannot create an email ticket, so I am requesting help here.

File Details:

  • File ID (from URL): 8PWGNMF3jj86lRGpx4WC7m

  • Creator/Owner Email: [redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII]

  • My Email: [redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII]

Could a support agent please check the backend status of this file? Was it permanently deleted, or is it linked to a different account? We urgently need to recover it. Thank you!

    Hey ​@Ansh Rajput, thanks for sharing those details! I can see that the file was originally located in the team called “uiuxteam’s team!.

    It appears the file has been deleted, but not permanently. You should be able to restore it from the team’s Trash:

    • Switch to uiuxteam’s team
    • Go to the Trash section
    • Look for the file, right-click it, and select Restore

    One important thing to check: make sure the “Created by” filter is set to “Anyone” (not just “You”), since the file may not show otherwise. Anyone who had edit access to the file should be able to restore it this way.
