URGENT – Education Status Verified but Team Access Still Blocked

I am a UX/UI educator in higher ed. I have set up a team in Figma, so I can collaborate with my students. It is currently a free team, but I need it to be an education team.

I have applied for education status and SheerID has already approved me and I’m still seeing “Education status expired”.
SheerID Request ID: 6979fca2406a460520416f0e


I have emailed education@figma.com twice with my SheerID Request ID and the exact team URL, and asked them to re-sync my education entitlement to myaccount/team. I have not heard back, not even a confirmation that my emails were received.

 

This is now impacting my teaching, as I have a class scheduled for Thursday.

How can my request be escalated and manually reviewed?

Thanks, Gayani. I can confirm that the Education team have contacted me. They found the issue: it looks like my verification was attached to a different Figma account in my name. Apparently this happened because I was logged in to the other account when I verified (I wasn’t aware of this). I’m glad they identified the issue, but I am still waiting to regain access to my Figma Education account — I was advised it takes 7 business days to process. Altogether, it has been six weeks trying to resolve this, and I haven’t been able to use Figma with my students. I’m still hopeful, especially now that I’ve received a response and an explanation.

Hey​@Beyond_Boorloo, I’m really sorry this has taken so long. Six weeks without access, especially when you’re teaching and relying on Figma with your students. I truly appreciate your patience throughout all of this.

I’m glad the Education team was able to identify what happened with the verification being tied to the wrong account. From what I can see on the ticket, these account corrections are processed on a weekly basis, and your request is in that queue. It should be completed by now.

I completely understand that this hasn’t been a great experience, and it’s not the standard we want for you. I’ll be sharing your feedback internally so the team is aware of the impact this delay has had.
