I've noticed that adding video to a Figma site (using the new "Fill in Figma" sites feature) isn't supported or is completely broken. It's a mess to try and implement — there's no straightforward way to embed or play videos properly.

In contrast, Framer handles video support very well — it's easy and seamless to integrate video backgrounds or media sections. It would be great if Figma could match that level of functionality. Right now, it's a major limitation for building modern, media-rich web experiences directly in Figma.

Expected Behavior:

  • Ability to embed videos in Figma Sites

  • Support for background videos and inline media

  • Clean playback and responsive behavior

Actual Behavior:

  • No native video support

  • Workarounds are clunky or ineffective

  • Makes building modern web pages difficult

Please consider adding full video support in Figma Sites — it's essential for many use cases and currently a big gap compared to Framer.

I'm experiencing the same issue with the new “Fill in Figma” sites feature, video support just doesn’t seem to be there yet. I’m not using Framer, so I was really hoping to keep everything within Figma, but embedding or adding background video feels nearly impossible right now.

Would love to see native support for videos (both inline and background) in future updates. It’d make a huge difference for those of us building more dynamic, media-rich pages directly in Figma. Really appreciate all the great progress so far, this feels like one of the last missing pieces!

I’m having the same issue with adding video to a road trip website that’s mostly photos in a grid. I’d like to trigger a few videos in a ‘play box’, but it says its not supported (yet?). Seems like a pretty big miss. Love the new Sites feature in general, but some aspects are still not quite there. Grids hopefully moves out of beta and continues to improve… need more options for responsiveness.
