Error

I keep getting the same error when I try to upload a .fig file to my drafts. I tried several troubleshooting suggestions i’ve found on forums and videos, and nothing seems to work.

So far, I tried:

  • Downloading the file I wanted to upload several times.
  • Cleaned cachĂ©
  • Tried with desktop and browser versions of Figma.
  • Moved all the frames I needed to a different file, the new file won’t import either.
  • Tried to import the file to another account. It worked on two accounts but not on my personal one.

Hi, @Daniel Ospina Castrillón 👋 The "Unsupported file format" error usually means the downloaded .fig file itself is incomplete or corrupted, it’s an interesting clue that it seems to work some-but-not-all-the-time.

A couple quick checks may help narrow it down:

  • When you tested on the other two accounts, did you use that same downloaded file, or download a fresh copy while logged into each one?
  • Could you check the file size of the downloaded Tertiary Pages.fig? If it's just a few KB, the download itself likely failed silently.

Also worth checking: what access level does your personal account have on the source file (owner/editor/viewer)? Ownership can affect exports for some accounts and not others — more on that here. Talk soon! — Jaycee
