Unexpected Full Seat Available and Billing Adjustment After Purchasing a Collab Seat

Hi Figma Support,

I purchased 1 Professional Collab seat using the $5 first-month promotion.

My workspace currently has:

  • 1 Collab seat (myself)
  • 0 Dev seats
  • 1 Full seat available

However, my upcoming invoice shows a $18.87 Billing Adjustment (Seat updates).

I don't remember upgrading to a Full seat or purchasing one.

Could you please review my account and explain why this happened? If this is a billing or seat assignment error, could you please help resolve it and correct the upcoming invoice?

Thank you.

Hey @Heidi9221, thanks for reaching out!

I'm not able to look into account-specific seat and billing details here on the forum for security reasons. Could you submit a request through Support Hub? Our customer support team can help you out here.

While you wait, a bit of general context that might help:

  • Figma's billing is based on your plan type plus the number of Full, Dev, and Collab seats on your team.
  • A "Billing Adjustment (Seat updates)" line typically shows up when a seat is added or when a seat type changes partway through a billing period. Figma prorates the charge for the remaining days.
  • An "available" seat just means it's part of your purchased seats but isn't currently assigned to anyone, so it's possible to see one sitting available even alongside a recent seat change.

You can find more on how this works in There are additional charges in my Figma bill. It also covers where to check seat approval settings, if you want a look while the ticket's in review. That's under Admin > Settings > Billing > Seat approval settings.

Hope this helps!
