Hi Figma team,

I would like to report a billing/subscription issue caused by an accidental seat upgrade.

Originally, my subscription was an Annual Dev Seat only. However, I accidentally upgraded to a Full Seat. After this change:

- My annual plan was changed from Dev Seat to Full Seat

- An additional Monthly Dev Seat was automatically added to my subscription

- My billing now shows a $41.44 USD charge for the Full Seat annual plan

This change was completely unintentional. I do not plan to use the Full Seat or the additional Monthly Dev Seat, and this was not my original subscription intention.

I have already contacted Figma Support and provided the requested subscription information, including the team/organization name and confirming that I am the Admin of the team. However, I have not received a response yet, so I would like to report the issue here as well.

The $41.44 USD bill is due on June 26, so I’m hoping this issue can be resolved before the due date.

Could the Figma team please help with the following?

1. Remove the mistakenly added Full Seat

2. Cancel the automatically added Monthly Dev Seat

3. Revert my subscription back to the original Annual Dev Seat plan only

4. Ensure that I will not be charged for these unintended changes

If any additional information is needed, please let me know. I would be happy to provide it through the proper support channel.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hey @yxzheng , thanks for reaching out and for the detailed breakdown! I've escalated your case internally and can see the support agent has already replied to your ticket with a resolution. Please check your inbox when you get a chance! For reference your case number is #1968822.

Just to share some context for the community: accidental seat upgrades can happen when editing a design file triggers an in-product prompt to upgrade to a higher seat type. Please see below an example when you were trying to edit a design file and were prompted (as shown below) to upgrade your seat.

In some cases, our support team may be able to reverse the change as a one-time exception. However this is reviewed on a case by case basis.

Please continue the conversation directly via your support ticket for the full details on your specific resolution. Thanks for your patience, I’ll go ahead and close the topic here! 🙏

Hi everyone,

I’m running into a billing/subscription issue and would like to ask if anyone has experienced something similar before.

Originally, my subscription was an Annual Dev Seat only. However, I accidentally upgraded to a Full Seat. After that change:

- My annual plan was changed from Dev Seat to Full Seat

- An additional Monthly Dev Seat was automatically added to my subscription

This was completely unintentional, and I do not plan to use the Full Seat or the additional Monthly Dev Seat.

Because of this change, my billing currently shows a charge of $41.44 USD for the Full Seat annual plan. This was not my original subscription intention, so I would like to avoid this charge and revert my plan back to the original Annual Dev Seat.

The bill is due on June 26, so I’m hoping this can be resolved before the due date.

I have already contacted Figma Support and provided the requested subscription information, including the team/organization name and confirming that I am the Admin of the team. However, I have not received a response yet, so I would also like to ask here:

1. Has anyone accidentally upgraded from a Dev Seat to a Full Seat before?

2. Were you able to revert back to the original Annual Dev Seat?

3. Is there anything else I should do to make sure I won’t be charged for the unintended Full Seat upgrade?

Any advice or shared experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
