Hi, I was charged $154.29 today (April 5, 2026) under "Billing adjustments - Seat updates" on my Professional team plan. My previous invoice was $36. I only have one seat and did not authorize any seat additions.

Hi @maconbentley — welcome to Figma Forum, and thanks for the detailed report. I understand how concerning an unexpected charge like this is, especially when you didn't make any changes to your seats.

I'm not able to access and discuss billing details within this public space, but I've opened a ticket on your behalf with our Product Support team so they can review the charge and your invoice. Your case number is: 1831461, and they'll follow up at the email tied to your Figma account.

In the meantime, this resource explains common reasons for unexpected charges on your Figma bill, which may help provide some context: There are additional charges in my Figma bill.

I also removed some billing details from your original post to help protect your account privacy — appreciate your understanding on that.

Please keep an eye on your inbox for next steps. 🙏🏻

Thank you so much for resolving this. Just subscribed with the correct plan.

Thanks.

Hi! I kinda have the same problem. My professional plan has 3 full seats included. I added a new member to my team today, it’s 2 of us now. My invoice is somehow $64 (it $24 for the first month), which includes billing for 2 seats and $24 for billing adjustments. What is billing adjustments? And why am I charged for the included seats?

Hey @Pollynarniya! Stepping in for @Tom Reem.

It can sometimes be confusing to break down what your charges when you’re adding or removing seats, and as Tom said we can’t access or discuss billing details here. I’ve created a ticket for you with our support team so they can take a look, and you should hear back soon. Thank you for your patience!

In the meantime, there are a couple good resources to help you better understand your billing. The first is the article that Tom shared regarding additional charges on a bill, and the second is an article on managing billing for the Professional plan.

I’m also having “billing adjustments” on my next invoice, there is no explanations of these fees and of course I’ve never been warned of these fees anywhere before!

Your whole license schema was already a total nightmare without this, for example if I want to have a dev access to the files of my freelancer, I can’t just buy a dev seat for me, I have to create a team, move the file to my team, buy a dev seat for me and a full seat for my freelancer, how nonsensical is this?

Hey @tsnobip, thanks for reaching out!

Unexpected charges usually come down to one thing: additional paid seats being added to your plan beyond what you originally set up. Here's how it typically happens:

  1. Someone on your team requests editor access (or is granted it)
  2. Figma checks whether a free seat is available in your plan
  3. If there isn't one, Figma automatically purchases a new seat and charges you a pro-rated amount for the rest of your billing period

That pro-rated charge is what shows up as a "billing adjustment". To get a clear breakdown of exactly what triggered yours, I'd recommend raising a support ticket so the billing team can review your invoice directly: Contact Figma Support.

In the meantime, two things worth checking in your Admin settings:

  • Seat approval settings- you can require admin approval before any new seat is purchased.
  • Member seat types- anyone who only needs to view files can be downgraded to a free Viewer seat

This article walks through the most common scenarios in detail: There are additional charges in my Figma bill.

This is how the Professional plan works right now. To access Dev Mode on files in your team, you need a Full or Dev seat on your own plan. And for your freelancer to edit those files, they need a seat on your team too. I've noted your feedback!

Let me know if you have any other questions!
