unclear AI balance presentation

I have 3,000 personal AI credits and access to a shared team pool of 7,500 credits.

I would like to clearly understand when I have used up my personal credits and when my usage starts being deducted from the team pool.

At the moment, this is very unclear in Figma Make. There doesn’t seem to be a clear indicator showing:

  • how many of my 3,000 personal credits I have used,
  • how many personal credits I have remaining, and
  • whether a given prompt is currently using my personal credits or the team’s shared credits.

This lack of transparency is causing confusion within our team, as we cannot easily tell when individual usage starts consuming the shared team allowance.

Could you please clarify how I can monitor this, or consider adding a clear indicator in Figma Make showing when the personal allowance has been exhausted and usage has switched to the team pool?

Hi @Julka, thanks for reaching out!

I understand wanting to know which bucket your credits are coming, especially when your team is also sharing a pool. Here's how it works today: you always spend your personal seat credits first, and once those are used up, usage automatically draws from your team's shared pool; no action needed on your end. Usage was designed to show your personal allotment and the plan credits as a single combined balance, so there isn't currently an indicator that tells you the moment you cross from one to the other. But I hear you that it makes team budgeting harder than it should be.

A few things that may help in the meantime:

  • Your own balance: open any file where you have edit access → Main menu → AI balance to see credits used, remaining, and your reset date. (How AI credits work)
  • Per-prompt cost: hover the AI credits icon below any completed prompt in Make to see exactly what it consumed.
  • Team-level view: your admin can see per-person consumption in the AI credits dashboard under Admin → AI credits → View usage.
  • Guardrails on the shared pool: this may be the closest fix for what your team is worried about. An admin can set a custom monthly limit on how many paid (pool) credits any individual can use, via Admin → People → select a person → AI credits → Set limit. That caps how far one person's usage can reach into the shared 7,500 before it's cut off, and they'll get a Request more button rather than silently draining it. (Set AI credit limits)

Hope this helps explain! Two last questions, so I can pass your feedback on accurately to our team: Is your team on Professional, Organization, or Enterprise? And would the more useful signal be a notification at the moment you switch to the pool, or an always-visible split of personal vs. team remaining? Let me know!

Hello,

thank you for the reply. We have a professional plan.  Definitely an always-visible split! That would be extremly helpful so that each user can control balance easily.

kind regards.
