Unauthorized Upgrade from Dev Seat to Full Seat + Annual Changed to Monthly Without Consent

Hi Figma team,

I am posting here because I have not received a response to my support ticket (#1691072) for 3 days after my escalation request.

Summary of Issue:

  1. December 14, 2025: I subscribed to Professional Dev Seat (Annual) and paid $154.08 USD (Invoice V2PPET0U-0001)
  2. December 19, 2025: My seat was upgraded to Full Seat without my knowledge or consent
  3. January 14, 2026: I was charged an additional $50.65 USD (Invoice V2PPET0U-0003)
  4. Critical Issue: The receipt shows my plan changed from Annual to Monthly — I never authorized this change

What I requested:

  • Downgrade back to Dev Seat
  • Keep my original subscription period unchanged
  • I am even willing to forgo the $50.65 refund

Figma's response:

  • Cancel and resubscribe (which would change my billing period and affect my organization's reimbursement)
  • No other solution offered
  • No response for 3 days after escalation

I have seen many users on this forum experiencing similar unauthorized billing issues. This appears to be a systemic problem with Figma's billing system.

Could someone please escalate this case or provide assistance?

I understand your concern regarding the unexpected charges on your Professional plan, as well as the delay in hearing back after your escalation.

 

I checked on our end and can see that one of our specialists has already reviewed your case and explained the billing changes in your ticket.

Based on what we’re seeing, your plan was originally an annual Dev seat, and on the same day it was upgraded to a monthly Full seat, which resulted in the additional charge.

Just to clarify the seat types:

  • A Dev seat includes access to Dev Mode, Figma Slides, and FigJam, with view/comment access only for Figma Design.
  • A Full seat is required to create or edit Figma Design files.

 

For security and privacy reasons, we’re not able to assist billing issues directly here in the forum.
