Unable to Verify Student Status – SheerID Rejected & No Response from Education Team

Hello,

I’m currently trying to get the Figma Education plan but I’m facing several issues.

• SheerID rejected my verification without giving details and closed my ticket permanently.  
• I contacted education@figma.com more than a week ago but haven’t received a reply.  
• My school does not provide the option to create a new academic email, so I cannot submit a new request.  
• I am an active student and can provide school documents (student ID or enrollment certificate) if needed.

Could someone from the Figma team please review my case or let me know what I can do next?

Thanks for sharing the response from SheerID.

If you’re also seeing a “Verification Limit Exceeded” message or received a denial like the one you posted, the next step is to reopen your ticket with SheerID and continue the conversation directly with them with additional documentation. They’re the only team who can review your documents, reset your verification attempts, process an appeal and determine whether you can be approved. Even if you’ve contacted them before, their updated process should give you a better chance of moving forward.


I know this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, but at this stage it’s the only path to move the Education verification process forward. You can reach out to SheerID support here.

As a reminder, Figma can’t review documents or confirm eligibility, so please make sure to reply to any follow-up emails from SheerID (this is essential for your application to progress).

If SheerID ultimately determines you’re not eligible for Figma for Education, you will still keep all your existing files. You can remain on the free Starter plan or upgrade to a Professional plan at any time. Upgrade or downgrade your plan.

@Celine_  Here is the response I received from SheerID.

It appears that all submitted requests are still active. However, we were unable to process your verification request. While we can't offer further details or support for this specific inquiry, please ensure all information submitted is accurate and meets the eligibility criteria for future attempts. Your ticket has now been permanently closed.

Thank you for your response.

You suggested reopening my SheerID ticket, but unfortunately that is not possible in my case. 
SheerID informed me that:
- They cannot process my verification request,
- They cannot provide any further details, and
- My ticket has been permanently closed, so I cannot continue the conversation or submit additional documentation.

Even though I am an active student and can provide valid proof, I currently have no way to move forward because SheerID will not reopen or review my case.

Given this situation, could you please advise what I should do next?  
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey ​@ridiro , thank you for explaining the situation in more detail! I understand how frustrating it feels to be stuck when you can provide valid proof but can’t move the process forward.

In this case, the best next step is to contact SheerID again as mentioned using their general contact form (even if your previous ticket was closed):

In your message, you can mention that your previous ticket was permanently closed, you are an active student and you can provide additional documentation.

I also see that you’ve already reached out to the Figma Education team (4 cases opened). If SheerID still isn’t able to assist after you contact them again, you can reply to your last Figma Education ticket and include the full message / screenshot you received from SheerID. (Please do not open a new case, but reply directly in one of your ticket already open). Our Figma Education team is the best equipped to review your situation and determine next steps.
