Unable to open Figma files due to WebGL error popup

When I try to open the UX guide file, a popup apperas saying “WebGL is not supported or is disabled in your browser, so this ifle cannot be opened.” and the file does not open.

WebGL is enabled on my browser and my graphics diver is already updated to the latest version.

When I check the WebGL Report, it shows “This browser supports WebGL1/WebGL2” in green for all items.

A colleague using a laptop with the same specifications can open the UX guide files without any additional settings, but the files do not open on my laptop.

Could you please check this issue?
Thank you.

Hi @유나 신,

I understand you're seeing a "WebGL is not supported or is disabled in your browser" error that's preventing your file from opening.

This error usually appears when Figma detects that WebGL isn't running as expected in your browser, which can happen if hardware acceleration is disabled or if your GPU drivers are outdated.

Thanks for confirming that your WebGL report shows green across the board and that your GPU drivers are up to date!

Could you try a few additional troubleshooting steps?

  • Try a different browser: Are you only seeing this error in Chrome, or does it also occur in Firefox, Safari, or Edge? Please also make sure you're on the latest version of whichever browser you try.
  • Check hardware acceleration: Make sure hardware acceleration is enabled in your browser. In Chrome, you can find this under Settings > System.

For more details, check out this guide: How do I configure my browser for Figma?

If the issue persists, please submit a bug report:

  1. Go to the Support Hub
  2. Click Start a chat and type "Report a bug"
  3. In the form, please include a copy of your GPU specifications. You can find steps to save your specs here: View your graphics card specifications

Thanks!
