Unable to find Figma make project

Hi everyone,
I created a Figma project about a month ago and even published it. At the time, I was on the student plan. Recently, when I tried to log in, Figma asked me to re-verify my student status. After doing that, I noticed that my project was missing. The published link no longer works either.

I’m certain I didn’t delete anything, and I was the only person in the team. I already checked the Trash and it’s not there.

Has anyone experienced something similar? How can I recover my project? Also, does anyone know how to contact a real support agent at Figma? I keep getting redirected to their AI chatbot, and I really need to talk to a human about this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Mehedi0922,

I understand that you lost access to your Figma Make file after reverified your student status.

It seems you currently have access to one Student team and two Starter teams. You can switch between teams in your file browser’s sidebar by clicking the down arrow next to your team name.

Each team has its own Projects, Trash, and Drafts, so please double-check those sections in all three teams to see if your file appears there.

If you’re still unable to locate your file after checking all of those locations, could you please share the file URL here? We can then connect you with our Support team to take a closer look.

You might be able to find the file URL from one of the following:

  • Your web browser’s history
  • Any previous messages or conversations where you might have shared the file link
  • If you’re using the desktop app: go to File > Recently Closed Tabs, reopen the file, then right-click the tab and select Copy link

Thanks,

Thanks,

This is the link to the Make file, as far as I know: https://www.figma.com/make/EQcPnxFjB7f5hThTh8mUwN/Interactive-Story-Driven-Game?node-id=0-4&t=9HBMl0VKKGjxCHJX-0 . I had also published it using the following link, but I’m no longer able to access it:- https://brand-waltz-90738612.figma.site . I also checked under the Teams section, but I couldn’t find my project anywhere. Could you please help me resolve this issue?

Thanks for the file link.

It seems that the Make file was part of a team called “The Public Team,” but the team has been deleted by its owner.

When a team is deleted:

  • All files and projects within it are also removed.
  • The team owner receives a confirmation email that includes a link to restore the team along with all its files and projects.

So your first step would be to ask the team owner to check their inbox (and possibly their spam folder) for that email and try restoring the team from there.

Only the team owner can restore a deleted team within 28 days of deletion.

It appears that 28 days haven’t yet passed since the team was deleted, but after that, unfortunately, all files and projects will be permanently removed.

For more details, please refer to this article from our Help Center: Restore a deleted team

Thanks,

Thanks,

Hello @Junko3. I did not receive any email from figma regarding Team deletion. Could help me in this regard?

Hi @Mehedi0922

As Junko mentioned, the team’s owner receives the email to restore the team.
Since they were the one to delete their team, you’ll want to reach out to them directly to help restore the team.
