Unable to Export Frame

I understand that you’re seeing the message “You are not allowed to export this file” when trying to export a frame, even though you’re the owner of the file.

To make sure this isn’t related to the resolved issue mentioned below, could you please start by fully refreshing Figma?

If you’re still experiencing the problem after that, it sounds like the file you’re trying to export from may have restrictions set in its sharing permissions. To start troubleshooting, please double-check the following:

1. Do you have edit access to the file?

2. If you do, click the “Share” button in the right sidebar → select the current sharing permissions → open the Share settings.

3. Do you see an Advanced section there? If so, deselect the “Viewers can copy, share, and export from this file” option and see if anything changes.

If you have edit access but don’t see the Advanced option, or have deselected it and still can’t export or copy frames, the tool may not be working as expected.

When submitting, please include:

• The URL of the file

• A video recording or screenshots of the issue (showing the full Figma screen)

If you don’t have edit access to the file, it’s likely that the file owner has enabled advanced sharing restrictions. You’ll need to contact the file owner and ask them to update the sharing permissions.
