Unable to Edit Lecturer’s Figma File – Student Verification Limit Exceeded

Dear Figma,

I’m currently facing an issue with Figma access and need help urgently.

My lecturer shared a Figma file, but I can’t edit it because Figma requires me to verify my student status. I tried to complete the verification process, but it keeps showing this error message:

“Verification limit exceeded.”

Because of this, I’m unable to access the file properly and continue my work.

I’ve already:

  • Tried verifying again

  • Logged out and logged back in

  • Checked that my student email is correct

Has anyone experienced this before, or does anyone know how to fix this issue quickly?
Is there another way my lecturer can grant edit access without student verification?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

To make sure I understand your situation correctly, could you share what type of educational program you’re enrolled in (e.g. higher education, secondary school, or an online bootcamp)? The verification steps vary by institution type, and this guide outlines what’s required for each: Figma for Education → Verify your education status.

Based on the message you’re seeing, it sounds like the notification is coming from SheerID, which handles the verification process on our behalf. If you haven’t already, I recommend contacting them directly so they can reset your eligibility check and allow you to submit again: Contact SheerID support team.

Hello ​@Tom Reem thank you for the fast reply, i’m enrolled in higher education program. I only can’t verify my student status. i already contacted SheerID support team. Please fix this ASAP thank you🙏
