Unable to access shared Library

Our design team is experiencing two major issues with a specific shared Figma library:

  1. Inconsistent Access: Some team members can only restore access by manually re-adding the library from the "This file" section, while others cannot see it there at all.

  2. Library Linking in Figma Make: We can no longer link Figma libraries within Figma Make. Has this feature been removed or changed?

We have already tried restarting the Figma app, restarting our computers, and accessing Figma via a browser, but the issue persists. Could you please clarify why this is happening and how we can resolve it?

Let me know if you have any questions

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for reaching out and for the detailed report! Sorry to hear your team is running into these issues!
About the inconsistent library access , this seem unusual since it's affecting team members differently. A few things worth checking:

  • Make sure all team members have the correct permissions on the library file. (In order to access a library’s styles, components, and variables, users need at least can view access to the library.)
  • Check if the library file has been moved to a different team or project, which can sometimes cause access inconsistencies.

I can also see you've already reached out to our support team, I've gone ahead and added a follow-up note to your ticket to increase visibility. I'd recommend you to continue the conversation directly there, as the team can look directly into your file and account to investigate both issues in depth (which is the fastest way to get this resolved!). Thanks for your patience! 🙏

@Celine_  It’s already resolved. All of us has now access, but would be glad to know why some of their access to that library got removed.

Glad it's resolved, thanks for letting me know! As for why it happened, it's hard to say for certain. It could be down to a few things like a temporary file move, a permission change configured by an admin.

I see that the support team is waiting for your response, feel free to follow up on your existing support ticket and the team will look into it for you! 🙏
