Anay Mittal

Hey Figma Community,
I have been working on a big project, and creating it using Figma Make; with the full professional seat. there are a total of 1809 versions created on it right now, but I am stuck with this “Too many prompts, try again soon” message, in every figma make file, either creating from scratch or the same file.

What could be the potential fix for this? Please LMK.
Thanks.

Hey @Anay Mittal , Celine from Figma here, happy to help! The “Too many prompts, try again soon” message means you’ve hit a rate limit, which can happen when a high number of prompts are sent in a short period of time. You can also read more in our guide here.

I’d recommend you to wait a short while and try again now (the rate limit resets automatically).
While you’re waiting, you may want to review our best practices for Figma Make to help get more out of each prompt once the limit refreshes here.

There isn’t a way to bypass the rate limit immediately, but it should reset fairly quickly and you’ll be able to continue working once it does.

Still, if you continue to see this message after waiting in any files, the next step would be to submit a bug report. When you do, please include a screenshot or short video of the issue, along with a brief description of what you were trying to do in Figma Make. You can follow the steps here to submit a bug report. Thank you

No @Celine_  that is nonsense. It’s been a long time, not a “short while”, and I can’t edit the file my client paid for. Massive failure

Hey @Dan208937u39qythobgaoerh , thanks for following up and sorry to hear you’re still running into issues!

Since this has been happening for longer than expected, the next step is for our support team to investigate the issue directly with your file. That’s the best way for us to understand what’s going on and check your permission right as you can’t edit the file.

Could you please do the following so the team can take a closer look:

  • Share view access to one of the impacted files with support-share@figma.com
    (This won’t affect your billing.)

  • Then submit a bug report via the Support Hub:
Go to the Support Hub → click Start a chat → type “Report a bug” → include the direct URL to the file and a brief description of what you’re seeing.

This will allow Support (and Engineering, if needed) to reproduce the issue and investigate properly. Thanks for your patience while we get the right eyes on this!

@Celine_ I have the same issue. We are paying for full enterprise seats and have unlimited tokens until end of march. This is unacceptable. I expect you to keep to your end of the agreement. You are severely restricting my work.

Hey @Moritz5 , thanks for flagging this, I understand your concern.

Just to clarify, this isn’t related to your monthly Enterprise credits (or usage limits). The “Too many prompts” message appears when a short-window rate limit is exceeded, which can happen if a high number of prompts are sent within a brief period.

As mentioned above, the recommendation in that case is to wait a short while before trying again. The rate limit resets automatically. There isn’t a way to bypass it immediately, but it typically clears fairly quickly and you should be able to continue once it does.

Still, if this is happening repeatedly during normal usage (not rapid prompting), please submit a ticket through the Support Hub as mentioned above and include the impacted file URL and approximate time it occurred. That will allow our support team to review your specific case directly. Thank you for your understanding!

I have to work on 3 different projects at the same time, so of course I am going to have multiple prompts. Now I have to wait, and I don’t know how long? This is a huge failure on Figma. I am paying for a full priced seat, and there is no warning about this. Its been almost an hour and am still waiting. Now I am severely behind on work.

If you can’t keep your end of the bargain then don’t promise it. Just charge more money. I am willing to pay more to remove prompt time limits and have unlimited credits, but I need Figma to be REALIABLE and not pull my work out from under me.

I may not ever use Figma AI again if this continuous. I am now currently using a competitors AI website code generator to continue working while I wait for the prompt limit to be removed, and after this, I may just stick with them.
