Dima Phase

Hello, I have a MacBook Pro Late 2013 with Mac OS Big Sur. My Figma app version is 116.16.13, and recently the app stopped working and requiring an update, but I can’t open the downloads link, or even download via homebrew

Hey Dima, Celine from Figma here! Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry you’re running into this issue.

What you’re seeing is expected on older macOS versions. The Figma Desktop App now requires macOS 12 (Monterey) or later, so the desktop app can no longer update or launch correctly on your device. Your macOS version needs to meet the minimum system requirements for the desktop app to run. You can find more details in our Guide to the desktop app.

Please also note that earlier macOS versions are no longer supported, and there isn’t a way to install or roll back to an older desktop app build.

The good news is that you can still use Figma in the browser, which is fully supported as long as you’re using a compatible browser (Chrome 99+, Firefox 101+, Safari 16+, Edge 121+).
For the latest compatibility details, here’s the article to reference:: What are the system requirements for Figma?

I know this may not be the outcome you were hoping for, but I hope it clarifies the situation!
