Team File Sharing is BROKEN

I have just onboarded 6 new team members to our Education account but they continually are requesting edit access to files — files that are IN OUR TEAM.


This is SUCH a bad experience for them and is in direct opposition to the entire purpose of having a team and team share settings.

Right now your support has told me i can only override file edit status by opening EVERY FOLDER we have and inviting the new team members to edit that folder.  EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE IN THE TEAM!  This is insane.

Please fix this.

I understand how manually updating every folder would make onboarding much more difficult. How did you add the six new members? Were they invited directly to the team with Can edit access, or added to the Education organization another way?

 

Could you also check the Share settings on one affected folder and let us know whether it inherits the team’s access or is limited to specific people? Folder-level permissions may be preventing the new members from receiving access.
