Subject: Help with "Project Too Large" Error – Cannot Delete Files Without Breaking Project

Dear Figma Support,

I am encountering an error in Figma Make stating that my project is too large and suggesting I delete some files. The Request ID for this issue is: 8bcd0d77-5d9b-4902-850a-a1c432693ae1.

The problem is that I cannot simply delete files, as doing so would break the completeness and functionality of my project. I need to keep all components and connections intact.

Could you please advise on alternative solutions? Is there a way to increase the file size limit, or can you help me identify specific files that are safe to trim without affecting the project's integrity?

Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your guidance.

Best regards,

Hi @Marcus Deng

I understand you’re encountering the 'Project too large' error and are concerned that deleting files might compromise your project's functionality.

Currently, this error occurs when one or more files exceed the 1MB size limit, which is necessary for the AI in Figma Make to function correctly.

Unfortunately, we are unable to increase this limit at this time, we appreciate your understanding.

To resolve this  you can try the following:

Identify the large files: Look for a warning symbol next to filenames in your project list.

Refactor with AI: You can ask the AI to refactor or trim unnecessary code to optimize the file size while keeping the logic intact.

Offload Assets: If your file is large due to high-resolution images or heavy data, consider connecting your Make file to Supabase. This allows you to offload large assets or placeholder content to a backend database.

You can find more detailed guidance here:

Thanks,

I have looked through the files with my own eyes but cannot find them.

Dear Figma Support,

I have tried the suggested method of asking the AI to refactor the large files, but it did not successfully reduce the file sizes below 1MB. The issue persists with Request ID: 8bcd0d77-5d9b-4902-850a-a1c432693ae1.

Could you please advise on any other possible solutions? I would greatly appreciate detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to resolve this problem without compromising the project's integrity.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best regards,

Dear Figma Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to follow up on my previous correspondence regarding the "Project Too Large" error in Figma Make.

Could you please confirm that you have received my previous emails and that someone is already assisting me with this issue? This is extremely urgent as I have been unable to work for several days now, and my project is at a standstill.

I have already attempted the suggested solutions:

  1. Looking for warning symbols next to filenames – I cannot find any warning symbols in my file list.

  2. Asking the AI to refactor large files – This approach did not successfully reduce the file sizes below 1MB.

The problem persists with the same Request ID: 8bcd0d77-5d9b-4902-850a-a1c432693ae1.

Since I cannot identify which files are causing the issue and cannot delete files without breaking my project's functionality, I respectfully request that you escalate this matter for priority handling.

To help with troubleshooting from your end, I have already added support-share@figma.com as a Viewer to my file, as recommended in the community forum . Please let me know if there is any additional information or access you need from me.

I would be extremely grateful for any update on the status of my case, even just to confirm that it has been assigned to someone. If a case number has been created, please share it with me so I can reference it in future communications .

Thank you very much for your understanding and urgent assistance. I truly appreciate your help in getting me back to work.

Best regards,
Marcus Deng
