Student verification issue

Hello!

I am trying to actuivate my university student account, but it is getting failed. I selected my istitution from the list, registered with student email. uploaded enrollment certificate. But still it is getting failed.

Would really appreciate your help!

Hi ​@mik19, thanks for reaching out! I understand it can be frustrating when you’ve followed all the steps and the verification still doesn’t go through.

Could you confirm if your education status verification was officially declined?
If it was declined or your status was revoked, you can email our team directly at education@figma.com. They may request a bit more information to complete your verification, such as:

  • An updated URL for the institution you’re enrolled in

  • A copy of your school-issued student ID

  • A transcript, receipt, or other official proof of enrollment

You can also review our Help Center article for the full list of qualification criteria and details about the verification process.

Hello Figma community,

My name is Hala, and I am currently trying to verify my Figma Education account. I have submitted all required documents, including my student schedule and report card, to prove that I am an active student at Canadian Business College in Toronto.

However, I am still having difficulties completing the verification process, and my account has not been approved yet. I kindly request your assistance in reviewing my submission or letting me know if there is anything else I need to provide to finalize the verification.

Hey ​@Hala Altijani , I am working closely with Gayani, happy to help!

First, please make sure you applied directly at figma.com/education/apply using your school-issued email address, selected Higher ed as the institution type, and completed the full SheerID verification process.

If you’ve already done this, SheerID will email you to confirm whether your verification was approved or denied. Have you received any notification from them? For any issues with the verification itself, I recommend contacting SheerID Support directly here so they can guide you on the next steps.

Hello,

My name is Valentine and I’m a French student. I’m reaching out because I’ve been trying for several days to have my student status verified on the website. However, it keeps telling me that I’ve already used it, even though I only just created my account.

I was able to contact SheerID by email, but after sending them the requested documents, they replied that they are unable to verify my status.

What can I do?

Hey ​@valentine_lcrt , could you share the message you received from SheerID so we can guide you more accurately?
This situation often happens when a different Figma account under your name was previously verified for Education by mistake. Do you happen to have another Figma account, or did you apply using a different email address?
If that's the case, our Education team can help update the email on the verified EDU account. You can submit that request here: Request to Move Figma EDU Status.

If your issue is different (for example, SheerID send you a notification that your verification attempts are failing and you’ve hit the retry limit) the next step is to have SheerID review your case directly. You can contact them here: :https://support.sheerid.com/en-US/help-center/contact-form

Please note that Figma can’t manually verify Education eligibility on our side; all checks must go through SheerID, as they manage verification for higher-education students and faculty. Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,

My name is Marcos and I've submitted my student documents to activate my university student account but I haven't received anything from Sheer ID confirmation, and it's been a week. What can I do?

Hi ​@mdon , thanks for reaching out! If it’s been about a week since you submitted your documents and you haven’t heard back yet, the best next step is to contact SheerID directly. They handle the full verification process for the Figma Education Plan and can check the status of your submission.

You can reach their support team here: https://support.sheerid.com/en-US/help-center/contact-form

Just a heads-up, response times can take up to a few business days depending on volume. Once they follow up, you should be able to complete the verification.
